Small Parts, Big Impact: Essential Maintenance Tips

Small Parts, Big Impact: Essential Maintenance Tips

Pedicure chairs are built for comfort, but like any high-traffic equipment, a little proactive care can keep them performing at their best. From the desk of our Technician Manager, here are a few of the most common maintenance issues we see in the field and how to fix them fast:

Worn Foam Pads & Zipper Liners

Every 6–7 months, we recommend checking the foam pads and zipper liners on the backrest for signs of wear. If these go unchecked, the massage rollers can eventually tear through the leather. A quick replacement of worn padding can save time, money, and a lot of upholstery frustration.

Drain Backflow

If you are noticing water backing up into the basin, especially on chairs with a discharge pump, the check valve may be the culprit. It could have been installed incorrectly, or debris might be affecting the spring inside. A quick inspection and clean-out will usually get things flowing in the right direction again.

Slow Shower Head

Low water pressure from the shower head? No problem. All of our shower heads have filters that can be disassembled and cleaned to remove calcium or mineral buildup. Giving these a quick rinse every few months keeps water flow consistent and rinsing easy.

Jet Head Spraying Upward

If the jet head is splashing water upward, it is often due to either low water in the basin or incorrect installation. The jet head has a guard designed to direct water properly. Just make sure the guard is facing upward when attaching it to the chair. That little detail makes all the difference.

Autofill System Overflow

Our autofill system makes daily operation easier by allowing technicians to fully fill the basin with a press of a button. It uses an inlet valve to measure how much water to fill. However, if the water level is set too high (above 17 or 18), it can overflow instead of stopping automatically. To reset the autofill water level, follow these 5 simple steps:

How-to Reset the Autofill Water Level

  1. Turn off the autofill system by pressing the “Power” button
  2. Press and hold the “Autofill” button
  3. When a number appears on the display, adjust the fill level”
    1. Press “Fill” to increase the number
    2. Press “Jet” to decrease the number
  4. Once you reach the desired water level (we recommend 17 or 18), press and hold the “Autofill” button again until the number disappears to save the new setting
  5. Power up the autofill system by pressing the “Autofill” button again. The display should show the new saved number
